Review: Dyson Digital Slim™ DC59 Vacuum helps reduce my “MumStress”Levels

As busy mum’s we are the queens of multitasking and taking on too much, so when the opportunity came to make something in my life easier I got excited about adapting it into my life. The Dyson Digital Slim is one of those opportunities that I have been able to test run in my daily life and I can’t believe how much it has changed my cleaning habits and mum stress levels.
Of all the daily tasks I do, what I love the most is being able to get into the kitchen and cook for my family. Though the reality is with cooking always comes cleaning. Yes that great big dirty word CLEANING. There is always food that falls on the floor, benches to wipe, dishes to clean and the list goes on and on and on and it doesn’t stop. Your home can be clean for 5 minutes before you turn around and our little people have made sure we have more cleaning to do. Which drives us crazy to no end.
For the past two weeks I have had the opportunity to trail the Dyson Digital Slim. It is a cordless bagless vacuum cleaner that has three times the suction power of a standard corded vacuum cleaner. It is a nifty little machine that let’s you get around your house with ease and get the job done quickly.

It has been such a great addition to the household as I find my self quickly running over the kitchen floor after dinner without any hassle of pulling the cord out, plugging the cord in, taking the cord out, lugging a big vacuum back into the cupboard (geez I get tired just from thinking about that), the point is, it is super convenient and you will find yourself crazily wanting to vacuum, dare I say it.
What I love about it…….
  • I can move around the house with ease, no dragging the vacuum cleaner behind, no changing power points, no telling the kids to get off the cord.
  • I can quickly and easily clean up little messes as I please throughout the day. It’s no hassle to quickly pull it out of the cupboard and run over the mess.
  • It actually picks up the mess, I am surprised every time how much dust, and rubbish actually comes of the floors and out of the carpets.
  • I don’t have to waste money on bags.
  • It’s not blowing all the old dust from a bag back into the house every time I use it like my old vacuum cleaner did.
  • I can plug the tools directly into the unit and vacuum the car or the couch.
  • I can reach high places to vacuum as the head locks in place.
  • It goes under beds and furniture easily.
What I need to get used too…
  • Charging it regularly so it’s always ready to go. You will get about 15-20 minutes use out of it. This actually adds up to a lot of little cleans up you can do with it.
  • Cleaning the filter.

By having the Dyson it has meant that my “Mum stress” levels from life’s daily mishaps have reduced as I know that I can quickly run over the mess and it’s dealt with.

I’m sitting here trying to think of a problem that the Dyson Engineers can solve but after reading your review of the DC59, I think it may be the answer to my prayers!! With 4 children, it’s such a pain to drag out the vacuum cleaner and plug it in a million different times just to turn around and have it messy again! The DC59 sounds like a marvelous concept and I would love to try it out!!

Oh I have been saving for one of these now for ages! I would LoVE to try one, I have heard they are fantastic! I would love to try it for functionality and we have stairs as well as a fiddly floor plan therefore something lightweight, portable with no cords and still good suction would be a lifesaver! Still saving… One day maybe.

Perhaps they can work on reducing noise factor! I have heard the dyson in action at a friends house and it is super noisy. With kids who go white at the look of a vacuum cleaner, let alone sound, would be great to have it more muted if possible!

Invested in one about 2 months ago and wondered how I lived without it, it’s the best thing ever and it works – the only downside, for me, is we have quite a large house and sometimes it takes longer t o whip around and the batter charge goes – think they only have about 15 mins. It’s great also for the car

I would love to have something in my house that mapped and vacummed at the same time! I have a number of cats and tiles in half the house. One of my greatest bug bears is that fine cat hair that seems to swirl around when I sweep and making it impossible to pick up I usually have to vacuum and then steam mop. How great would it be to have something that had a suction at the front to vacuum and in the same swish, it mopped as well!

This vacuum cleaner looks easy to vacuum pet hair from the carpet.
